The journey from the closure of the Aberdare Campus of Coleg y Cymoedd to the last roof being covered at College Gardens has been almost 6 years in the making. 

The old college closed its doors at the end of the 2017 summer term when it relocated to its new location near Aberdare Train Station and Town Centre.

WDL Homes started looking at the land for development soon after and secured planning consent in 2019 for 87 homes before starting work later that year. Release day was a busy one with lots of names taken for the development, many of which have gone on to make College Gardens their new home. 

Covid slowed progress in early 2020 but in July of that year the first keys were handed over to the first families at College Gardens and completions have continued ever since with our wonderful customers making our houses their homes. 

We added garden rooms, bifold doors, and personalised kitchens to name but a few of the upgrades people have made.  So as the last roof is covered and the final scaffolding striped, we would like to thank everyone who has been involved in making College Gardens a fantastic development and wish all our homeowners every happiness in their new WDL Homes at College Gardens.
